Some royal family usually concern in maintaining royal culture and culture, and some has own profesion…for example as a lecturer, entrepreneur, etc.

Ok…Back to their wedding… Their wedding was held for 4 days  from 16 – 19 October 2011 in Keraton Yogyakarta.  The Sultan gave royal tittle to Achmad Ubaidillah, it is Kanjeng Pangeran Harya (KPH) Yudanegara.  Oh, by the way GRAj Nurastuti Wijareni was a finalist of Miss Indonesia in 2009.

Many famous people came to the wedding reception, even our president and vice president. Journalist who came to cover the news might wear traditional wear of  Java. Society of Yogyakarta also happy with the wedding. Some people of Yogyakarta gave food to royal family too. And of course the princess and the prince ride a royal cart to meet the people outside Keraton (the palace). Because of this royal wedding, hotels in Yogyakarta were full-booked, many tourist from abroad or domestic came just to see this awesome wedding.

Helping The Man of The Forest, Orangutan.

Have you ever heard of it? Orangutan is a big ape lives mostly in Sumatran and Kalimantan Island (Borneo), Indonesia. You could find them in the border between Malaysia and Indonesia too. Orangutan is one of the endangered animal category. So, it’s our job to keep their existence. The name, orangutan comes from Indonesian. It means “man of the forest”.

In the ancient times, the population of orangutan spread in southeast part of Asia, like Thailand, Vietnam, China and Malaysia. Now, it’s just a few of them. The hunter often kill their mothers to get their son and sell them to the collector.

“Based on recent surveys, biologists believe that only 50,000-60,000 orangutans remain in the wild. They have lost approximately 80% of their forest home in the past 20 years.”

National TV Station’s Program in Religious day

Hi, i am sorry for not blogging recently. I was in a quite hectic days.

By the way, today is the first Ramadan. Every muslims in the world  will be fasting. You can feel the atmosphere of Ramadan too here, since Muslims are very large  number in this republic country.

This year, Ramadan is from 1 August to 29 August. Just like another Ramadan, the national tv stations (more than 10 stations) here has a Ramadan program for a month. Such as tv series with Islam theme (it can be comedy and drama), some tv advertisement will have Islam theme, and then a program about knowing Islam (such as the history, the teaching, etc) and some quizzes.

The national  tv stations here usually adjust their programs according to religious day. for example, in Ramadan month  and Idul Fitri, their tv programs will  have Islam theme, in christmas day or easter day they will have christmas or easter theme, in “Nyepi” day (last day of Balinese calendar, when no work is done) the tv programs will have Nyepi’s theme and so on for Vesak and Konghucu (Chinese new year). Those are official religion in this country. Or if they don’t have the religious theme on their tv programs, they usually have felicitation advertisement  for those who celebrate their religious day.[cel].
